Hermanus Whale Festival Trail Runs – Saturday 11 October 2014 – Update

TrailRun

Again Hermanus Adventures pulled out all stops leading runners on new trails, awesome single tracks and over bsome of the most beautiful river crossings.

The 20km Trail Run was hugely popular and the first man to cross the line, Lieuwe Boonstra in a time of 1hr23, said it is one of the best trail run courses in the Western Cape. A great compliment for the Hermanus Adventures trail building team. Mkandeli Mkhohlakali and Christo du Plessis, both local Hermanus runners, came second (1hr26min) and third (1hr34min) respectively. In the 20km ladies trail run Candice Davison in 1hr35min proved to be just too strong for Ingrid Peens in second place and Rita Terblanche in third.

Ignatius Matema in a dust busting time of 44min55sec took line honours with Petrofski Williams and our local runner Frank Gillion in second and third. Jansie Slabbert in a well-deserved time of 55min34sec was just too fast for Kiara Suttner and Oriole Viljoen. Oriole from Kenya was also the winner of the 6km Cliff Path Night Run.
